Pour Some Sugar On Me

A couple of weeks ago I headed out to Liverpool with the girlies to celebrate my bestie's birthday and I've got to say I've become a big fan of day drinks (probably another sign of getting old.) Okay, so, If you're going out at night you might spend half your afternoon getting ready, it costs more to get home, you lose the day after to a hangover and if you've got young kids like some of my friends that hangover the next day is less than fun. Day drinks all the way...

First stop was Ex-Directory, one of Liverpool's hidden bars with secret entry through a telephone box. They have deliciously fancy cocktails, luxurious booth seating and a VIP-exclusive vibe.

Next stop was for a couple of two for a tenner cocktails in Bar Signature on Stanley Street. Great cocktails without paying a fortune, awesome decor and great atmosphere.
You can't survive day drinks without food, so Emma booked us a booth in the Slug & Lettuce so we could get some eats - nothing to do with their 2-4-1 cocktails.

I've not been in there for a little while and I was totally obsessed with the new decor.
Birdcage style booth with beaded chandelier.

There's my beautiful bestie touching up her lippy in the cool back-lit oblong mirrors on a white herringbone brick wall.

I spotted some of these Umbra wall planters in the restaurant area.

And that neon 'Cocktails' sign is just perfection. I'm so determined to get a neon sign in my house somewhere.
They don't come cheap, but here are some of my favourites from Etsy.
A few 2-4-1s down the hatch and it was time to get the selfie light out

Jenni was totally obsessed and calls it the halo of beauty... Not that she bloody needs it!

I bought it for lighting when I'm taking my housey pics, but I can't deny that it does help out in the selfie department.
We decided to head towards Concert Square past all the beautiful Chinese New Year decorations.

Quick tequila shot in Bar Ca Va on the way - standard.
Then how could we not make our next stop the Coyote Ugly bar?
I don't think I ever really switch off from decor;
I was eyeing up these bar stools for our kitchen.

And, totally loving the Coca-Cola sign and ceiling lights.

I also got a little bit too excited on the way to the loo when I saw that you can go in for dance lessons, uh yassssss! Who wouldn't want to re-live the Coyote Ugly movie throwing around some moves to Def Leppard; "Pour some sugar on me, ooh, in the name of love."
And here's the Coyote girls themselves...
So we left Coyote Ugly and grabbed a drink in the SOHO bar before heading towards the train station, but then something mysterious happened... The sound of 90's cheese lured us into Pop World.

So, we danced our last half hour away with the likes of S Club 7 and a partini for 4 (it's a thing).
